The main principles of Effective Communicatiion

Although you know what effective communication is, it is important to follow the principles in order to get your message through without misinterpretation. These principles are to do with the way you speak, the way you present yourself and where you are speaking. There are 6 principles which you need to follow these are:

    Gestures

Gestures are movements made by hands and the head in order to convey information. It’s good to use hand gestures as you can describe things which are indescribable with words and could be described with emotions. This will help the employer because it will help them understand what the employee is trying to say.

      Environment

It is important to have a good environment in order to make the communication effective. For example if you’re somewhere where there is a loud background noise then the person wouldn't be able to understand what the  employee is trying to say and it is likely that they will mishear or misunderstand, which will make the communication ineffective.

   Speech/ Clarity

Speech is a way to express thoughts and feeling by words. Clarity is the  ability to speak in a clear voice and able to express yourself. It important to use speech as the person should be able to hear and feel your emotion. The speech should be loud as everyone should be able to hear, it should also be clear because the person should be able to understand you without hesitating.

    Eye contact

Eye contact means looking at someone directly in their eyes and they are looking back. Eye contact is significant because the person should know that you are speaking to them and that you are confident about your point.

   Body language

Body language is the ability to non-verbally show that you are strong. It is important to have strong body language as it would show the opponent/employer that you are confident about your point and you know what are talking.

Each of these principles are important in their own way and it is vital to follow them during communication as it portray your personality and emotions.
